32nd Annual Garden Tour – “All Around Town”

  • Garden 1 ~ The Cushing House Garden – 98 High Street in Newburyport ~ The Cushing House Garden is an authentically restored treasure, providing a fine example of classic nineteenth-century French landscape design.
  • Garden 2 ~ 89-91 High Street in Newburyport ~ An established formal English Garden originally laid out in 1849.  Over the years the gardens have been  restored and the boxwood foundation has been  replanted.  This garden highlights mature plantings and structural grape arbors.
  • Garden 3 ~ 112 State Street in Newburyport ~ This in-town pocket garden makes the best use of it’s small space.  By reclaiming a parking area, functional hardscape was designed and complementary plants were added to make this a relaxing oasis.
  • Garden 4 ~ The Clark Currier Inn – 43-45 Green Street in Newburyport ~ Wonderful in-town garden features pergolas and a gazebo as it’s focal point. Lush use of evergreens including formal boxwood  hedges give this a sense of tranquility year round.
  • Garden 5 ~ 1 Federal Street in Newburyport ~ A recent transformation of these gardens was done during the historic restoration of this downtown home.  Step into this beautifully designed private garden that takes advantage of existing and new plantings to create a formal sun garden along with a more casual shade garden.
  • Garden 6 ~ Hale Park and Gardens – 224 Water Street in Newburyport ~ Beautiful views of the river and winding paths define this amazing public garden.  Perennial beds are interwoven with water features including a fountain, making this space a perfect place to relax and enjoy nature on one of the many benches.  A jewel of a park.
  • Garden 7 ~ 1 Marshview Way (off of Merrimac Street) in Newburyport ~ Spectacular 180 degree views of the Merrimack River!  A beautiful deck beacons you to sit and enjoy nature in all of her glory.  This natural setting has been created over the past 25 years and features water views as well as shade gardens.
  • Garden 8 ~ 441 Merrimac Street in Newburyport ~ This garden is a family affair and has a little something for everyone.  Raised garden beds are seen throughout the garden and granite found on the property has been reclaimed to provide definition.  The property features a butterfly garden and small brook inviting nature at her peak.
  • Garden 9 ~ 417 Main Street in Amesbury ~ Amazing waterfront property and gardens.  The seawall has recently been rebuilt giving the opportunity to refresh the yard and garden spaces.  The beautiful gardens and Merrimack River views are not to be missed.
  • Garden 10 ~ 418 Main Street in Amesbury ~Established gardens have been lovingly enhanced and are in harmony with the beautiful home restoration.
  • Garden 11 ~ 33 Pleasant Valley Road in Amesbury ~ Perennial gardens abound.  Enjoy the clean lines and growth of this newly established garden in a lovely setting.
